Troubleshooting a Mysterious GPU Issue: Seeking Solutions for a Disabled Nvidia 3060
As an IT professional, I pride myself on my ability to tackle various technical challenges, but I recently encountered a perplexing issue that has left me scratching my head. After acquiring a used laptop equipped with an Nvidia 3060 GPU from my former workplace, everything was running smoothly for a couple of weeks. However, just a few days ago, the graphics card suddenly stopped functioning.
In my attempt to diagnose the problem, I’ve gone through a comprehensive checklist of troubleshooting methods. I began by reinstalling the graphics drivers and ensuring all necessary BIOS updates were executed. In an effort to reverse any changes, I rolled back both BIOS and Windows updates. I also uninstalled the drivers completely and tested older versions, followed by a complete reinstallation of Windows, reverting to a previous version.
Interestingly, the device manager recognizes the graphics card without any issues. However, it appears that no software application is able to detect its presence. This is where I find myself seeking advice from fellow tech enthusiasts and professionals.
If you have any insights or suggestions on additional steps I could take to resolve this perplexing issue, I would greatly appreciate your input!
