Feeling Like a Boomer Trapped in a Gen Z’s Body — Suspecting My WiFi Has Been Compromised

Is My WiFi Hacked? A Confession from a Confused Internet User

In today’s digital age, it’s not uncommon to be perplexed by a sudden change in our online experiences. Recently, I found myself in a situation that left me questioning my technological security. What if I told you that I feel like a traditionalist trapped in a Gen Z’s body? Let me share my story.

The Strange Incident: A Double Whammy

Picture this: I was cozily settled in for a movie night, lounging on my couch while alternating between watching films and scrolling through Facebook. Suddenly, my Facebook account logged me out, citing an expired session. In my distracted state, I hadn’t realized that the film had transitioned into another language. After about thirty minutes of contentment, I suddenly found myself in a scene that was entirely foreign.

Feeling slightly disoriented, I kicked off my attempts to recover my Facebook account. Upon logging into the linked email for assistance, I noticed an unsettling change: the phone number linked to the account had been altered without my consent. Alarm bells started ringing in my head.

This morning, amidst my fruitless searches for the recovery code from Facebook — which mysteriously never arrived — I glanced over my junk email folder. To my astonishment, I found an email addressed to a stranger. It was from an “Adult Dating” service, which felt far too casual, and was directed to a completely different email address, one that certainly does not resemble mine at all.

Theories and Fears

Now, having binge-watched a slew of modern horror films where characters’ WiFi connections are hijacked leading to all sorts of chaos, I can’t help but jump to conclusions. Could it be that I, too, am a victim of the same fate? Am I merely being paranoid, or is this really happening to me?

Could someone clarify whether my fears are unfounded or if I should be concerned about a possible hacking incident? Is it time to change my passwords and check my internet security protocols?

Help a Tech-Challenged Individual Out

If there’s a way for me to share video evidence of my perplexing foreign film experience or the suspect email, I would appreciate guidance on how to do so. I’m sorry if this post doesn’t fit the expected guidelines; I’m just hoping to sort through this mess and get a better understanding.

In closing, I’d love to hear from
