Troubleshooting a Non-Functional Nvidia 3060 GPU: Seeking Solutions
As an IT professional, it’s always a challenge when you encounter technical issues that seem to defy logic. Recently, I encountered a perplexing problem with a used laptop featuring an Nvidia 3060 graphics card, which had been functioning without a hitch for two straight weeks. However, a few days ago, the GPU suddenly ceased to work, leaving me scratching my head.
I’ve embarked on a quest for a solution, and I’ve exhausted a number of troubleshooting methods. Here’s a brief overview of what I have done so far:
-
Driver Reinstallation: I attempted to fix the issue by reinstalling the graphics drivers multiple times, trying both the latest versions and reverting to older ones.
-
BIOS Updates: I made sure that the BIOS was up to date, and I even considered the possibility that a recent update caused the issue, so I reverted to an earlier version.
-
Windows Updates: Similarly, I explored the impact of Windows updates by rolling back to previous versions, in case a recent update had caused a conflict.
-
Operating System Reinstall: When everything else failed, I went to the extreme of reinstalling Windows entirely, only to face the same issue again.
Despite these efforts, the GPU is still recognized in the Device Manager, yet not acknowledged by any other applications.
I am reaching out to the community for assistance. Has anyone faced a similar experience, or does anyone have suggestions for additional troubleshooting steps? Your insights could be invaluable as I navigate this frustrating situation!
