Troubleshooting a Non-Functional Nvidia 3060: A Personal Experience
As an IT professional, encountering technical issues is part of the daily routine. However, sometimes even the most seasoned experts find themselves at a loss. Recently, I faced a frustrating dilemma with a used laptop I purchased from my workplace. This device was equipped with an Nvidia 3060 graphics card and had been performing excellently for two weeks—until it suddenly stopped working.
After experiencing the issue, I dove headfirst into troubleshooting. My first step was to update the drivers, ensuring I had the latest versions installed, but that didn’t yield any results. Next, I explored the BIOS updates and rolled back various installations of both the BIOS and Windows updates, hoping one of those would rectify the problem. I even attempted uninstalling the drivers entirely and reverting to older versions, but to no avail.
Reinstalling Windows was another route I took, restoring the system to a previous version in the hopes of restoring GPU functionality. Although the graphics card is listed correctly in Device Manager, it remains unrecognized by any software or application, which leaves me scratching my head.
I’m reaching out to the community for insights and suggestions. Has anyone else experienced similar issues with their graphics cards? Your advice or shared experiences could be invaluable in resolving this conundrum. Thank you in advance for your assistance!
