Troubleshooting a Non-Responsive Nvidia 3060 GPU: Seeking Solutions
As an IT professional, encountering a perplexing issue with a recently purchased used laptop can be particularly frustrating. Recently, I acquired a laptop equipped with an Nvidia 3060 graphics card, which performed admirably for the first two weeks. However, a few days ago, it suddenly ceased to function.
In an effort to resolve the problem, I have undertaken a series of troubleshooting steps. These include:
-
Reinstalling Drivers: I attempted to update the graphics drivers to the latest version, hoping to eliminate potential software conflicts.
-
Updating BIOS: I also checked for BIOS updates and ensured that I am running the most current version compatible with my laptop.
-
Reverting Changes: After updating, I tried reverting both the BIOS and Windows to previous stable versions in hopes of restoring functionality.
-
Driver Rollback: I uninstalled the drivers completely and reverted to earlier versions, suspecting that the latest update may have caused the incompatibility.
-
Windows Reinstallation: As a more drastic measure, I even went as far as reinstalling Windows and also tested older versions, striving to find a compatible setup.
Despite these efforts, the Nvidia 3060 is still visible in the Device Manager, yet it appears to be unrecognized by any other applications or software.
At this point, I’m reaching out to the community to see if anyone has encountered a similar issue or might have additional troubleshooting advice. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I work towards a resolution. Thank you!
