Troubleshooting a Disappearing Nvidia 3060 GPU: Seeking Solutions
As a professional in the IT field, I often find myself unraveling complex technology issues. However, I recently encountered a perplexing problem that has left me at a standstill. After purchasing a used laptop equipped with an Nvidia 3060 graphics card, everything was functioning smoothly for two weeks. Unfortunately, the GPU has suddenly stopped working, and I’m in need of assistance.
Here’s a brief overview of the steps I have taken so far in an attempt to resolve the issue:
-
Driver Reinstallation: I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics drivers, but to no avail.
-
BIOS Updates: I explored BIOS updates to ensure compatibility and performance optimizations, but the problem persists.
-
Windows Reversion and Updates: I reverted both BIOS and Windows updates, thinking this might solve my issue. In addition, I performed a full Windows reinstallation followed by a downgrade to a previous version.
Despite these efforts, the Nvidia 3060 appears in the device manager but is not recognized by any other software. This is quite baffling and has me stumped.
If anyone in the tech community has experience with similar issues or can provide guidance on further steps I should consider, your insights would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to any suggestions that could help me troubleshoot this stubborn GPU predicament!
