After a significant period of contemplation and anticipation, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve treated myself to an exciting upgrade from my previous 6th generation setup. Sometimes, you just know it’s time to enhance your tech game, and I finally took the plunge.

The New Build

I’m excited to introduce my latest configuration, which boasts impressive specifications:

  • Processor: Intel Core Ultra 9 285K
  • Motherboard: ASUS ProArt Z890-Creator
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA RTX 5080
  • Memory: 64GB RAM
  • Power Supply: 1000W Seasonic Vertex PSU

Reflecting on the Old Build

For perspective, here’s a look at my previous setup that served me well despite its age:

  • Processor: Intel Core i7 6900K
  • Motherboard: ASUS x99-WS/IPMI
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GTX 980 Ti (note that the RTX 5080 arrived before the other components, hence the dual setup in the photos)
  • Memory: 64GB RAM
  • Power Supply: 750W EVGA PSU

Before all of this, I also had a respectable build featuring a 980X, paired with the EVGA Classified x58 and 24GB of RAM.

Why The Upgrade?

Upgrading my system has been a decision years in the making. With advances in technology and the demands of modern software, I recognized that my old setup, while reliable, was starting to show its age. The combination of a high-performance processor, cutting-edge graphics card, and robust power supply in my new build is not only a boost in performance but also a significant leap into the future of computing.

I can’t wait to dive into new projects, enjoy enhanced gaming graphics, and fully utilize the capabilities of my brand-new system. Here’s to many productive hours ahead!
