Got this EVGA 3070 Ti XC3 Ultra for CAD$230 with a broken fan. W or L?

Scoring a Deal: My Experience with the EVGA 3070 Ti XC3 Ultra

Recently, I stumbled upon an intriguing opportunity to upgrade my gaming rig—a used EVGA 3070 Ti XC3 Ultra, which I purchased for just CAD$230. However, there was a catch: one of its fans was damaged. Was this a wise investment or a gamble gone wrong?

I decided to order a replacement fan from AliExpress for a mere CAD$10, bringing my total expenditure to CAD$240. Given the performance reputation of the 3070 Ti, I was hopeful.

Upon testing, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the GPU operates exceptionally well, maintaining a temperature of only 75°C, even with one fan out of commission. This level of performance bodes well for gaming, especially considering my previous graphics card was a 5700 XT. It’s a noticeable upgrade, despite the initial hiccup with the fan.

Now, I’m aware my current setup leaves much to be desired—a cardboard box is not the ideal solution. However, I’m actively searching for a more suitable case on Facebook Marketplace to properly house my components. And for the record, I’m keeping my feline friend far away from it!

So, what do you think? Have I made a clever buy or should I have passed on this deal? Your insights would be greatly appreciated!
