Has anyone ever encountered a black window but it’s not CMD?

Mysterious Black Window: An Unexpected Encounter with One Dragon Center

Have you ever stumbled upon a peculiar black window on your screen that seemed to defy explanation? I recently faced such an enigmatic occurrence, and I want to share my experience in hopes of shedding light on this unsettling situation.

Initially, I mistook the darkened area for a dead pixel. However, upon further investigation, I discovered that I could manipulate the window by dragging it with my mouse. My curiosity piqued, I turned to the Task Manager to identify any suspicious applications running in the background, but everything appeared normal.

This ghostly window closely resembled the Command Prompt but lacked its distinctive elements. Instead, it appeared semi-transparent, and I could stretch and adjust its size as if it were an active program. Frustrated and perplexed, I couldn’t help but wonder if this could be some form of malware lurking on my system. Should I consider a clean installation of Windows to resolve this bizarre incident?

To add context to my dilemma, I included a link to some images for anyone who might want a glimpse of this strange phenomenon: Weird window – Imgur.

Update: Solving the Mystery

After some helpful suggestions from the community, I decided to utilize a tool called Process Explorer. This led me to discover that the mysterious black window was linked to the voice recognition feature of One Dragon Center, a software I only use occasionally to customize RGB lighting for my social media posts.

It was a relief to trace the source of the issue. Following this revelation, I uninstalled the program and was pleased to find that a simple restart confirmed the successful removal of the problematic feature.

I’d like to extend my gratitude to everyone who offered their insights and assistance during this puzzling episode. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, don’t hesitate to investigate further. The solution might be as straightforward as it was for me!
