Having a conversation with my VP of worldwide services, and they’re openly revealing what we’ve all been thinking.

The Hidden Conversations in Corporate Talent Acquisition

Recently, during a discussion with my Vice President of Global Services, I found myself confronted with a reality that many professionals may intuitively understand but seldom hear articulated so directly. It became evident that the organization is not merely seeking to fill vacant positions with the most affordable talent. Instead, there is a calculated effort to identify countries with the most lenient labor regulations to source new hires.

Such intentions raise significant concerns, particularly regarding team morale and the overall environment within the workplace. When employees perceive that leadership is prioritizing cost-saving measures at the expense of ethical labor practices, it can lead to disillusionment and disengagement.

I can’t help but wonder if others in the corporate world are overhearing similar discussions. It appears to be a trend that prioritizes financial efficiency over the well-being of the workforce.

As I prepare to close this chapter of my career—entering my last week with the organization—I look forward to pursuing opportunities that align more closely with my values and principles. Here’s hoping for brighter and more ethically grounded prospects ahead.
