Help Needed: Our Family’s Phone Numbers Are Being Spoofed

Protecting Your Family: Dealing with Phone Number Spoofing

Today, I want to share a troubling experience that’s been affecting my family, in hopes of raising awareness and seeking advice from the community. Recently, I received an unexpected call from my sister’s number. However, when I answered, no one spoke, prompting me to hang up. Concerned, I dialed her back only to discover she hadn’t called me at all. This revelation intensified my anxiety about the situation.

After discussing the matter with my dad, I learned that he had a similar experience just last week, but this time it involved our mom’s number. It’s alarming to think that someone might be using our family’s phone numbers without our consent, and it has left me feeling quite uneasy.

To address this issue, my family and I have taken proactive steps, such as contacting our mobile carrier to request replacement SIM cards. We believe this will help us secure different phone numbers and hopefully put an end to this unsettling situation.

Despite these measures, I find myself seeking additional guidance. We’ve thoroughly examined our devices for any suspicious applications that might have access to our contacts, but so far, nothing has been out of the ordinary.

If you’ve dealt with a similar scenario or have expertise in this area, I’d greatly appreciate your insights. Specifically, I’m interested in strategies to prevent such incidents from happening in the future. Your suggestions could help safeguard not just my family, but potentially many others who might be facing the same threat of phone number spoofing.

Thank you for your help as we navigate this challenging experience!
