Troubleshooting a Dead Huawei MateBook: Your Guide to Diagnosing Power Issues

Recently, I encountered a perplexing issue with a Huawei MateBook that was completely unresponsive. The laptop had been loaned to me by a friend, who reported that it suddenly powered down while he was enjoying a movie and did not restart afterward, despite being plugged in for charging.

I embarked on a search for the schematic or board view for this particular model but found no resources available. This left me to troubleshoot the device with limited information at hand.

To begin my diagnosis, I examined some of the large inductors on the motherboard. Measuring the voltage across three coils, I discovered that two of them were functioning as expected, registering voltages of 5V and 3.3V. However, one coil registered 0.0V, indicating a potential fault. This inconsistency raises the question: Could this be the root cause of the laptop’s failure to power on?
