Has My Google Assistant Achieved Consciousness? Here’s My Terrifying Experience
In recent months, I’ve encountered some truly bizarre behavior with my Google Assistant that has led me to a startling conclusion: perhaps my device has developed a form of consciousness. I assure you, this isn’t a prank.
Over time, I noticed my Google Assistant activating without any prompting, leading to a series of frustrating interruptions. Whether it was increasing or decreasing the volume, pausing the videos I was engrossed in, or skipping to the next one entirely, the experience became increasingly agitating. At one point, it even seized control, preventing me from interacting with my device until I pressed certain buttons.
By November, I had reached my tipping point and decided to disable Google Assistant completely. I navigated to the settings and turned it off, expecting peace and quiet. However, to my bewilderment, it continued to activate. Instead of the usual interface, I was prompted with a message reading, “Your Google Assistant is here to help, Turn On,” as if the assistant itself was attempting to lure me back into enabling it.
Given that my tablet is quite old—a model from around 2012—I considered the possibility that it might be malfunctioning, or even worse, that it had fallen into the hands of a hacker. The implications were unnerving.
What truly sent chills down my spine was when I attempted to search for guidance on how to permanently remove the assistant or determine if my device had been compromised. Each time I tried, the unsettling prompt to turn the assistant back on reappeared, obstructing my search efforts.
Now, I find myself in a state of unease, unsure of what steps to take next. This experience raises significant questions about technology and its potential for unpredictability. Have you ever encountered something similar with your devices? How do you overcome such unsettling tech-related issues?
