Troubleshooting Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues: A Frustrating Experience with Google Wifi

As a dedicated internet user, nothing is more exasperating than facing connectivity issues with a device that should seamlessly access the web. Despite having a reliable internet connection that works effortlessly on all my devices—like TVs, laptops, and smartphones—I’ve been dealing with a persistent problem on my computer. This situation has left me feeling perplexed and frustrated, especially since I typically manage to resolve issues on my own.

The Dilemma

I utilize a Google Wifi system, which generally provides excellent coverage and performance. However, my computer inexplicably refuses to connect to the network. Oddly enough, I can easily connect to the internet through my mobile phone’s hotspot, indicating that the issue is isolated to my computer rather than my broader network setup.

To give you an idea of my system specifications:
– Processor: AMD Ryzen 1600
– Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070
– Motherboard: Gigabyte B350
– Wi-Fi Card: Intel AC 9260

Despite my best efforts to troubleshoot the problem, I’ve made little progress. Here are the steps I have already undertaken to regain internet access on my computer:

  1. Modem/Router Reset: Restarted my internet modem and router.
  2. Windows Troubleshooter: Engaged the built-in troubleshooting feature in Windows.
  3. IP Release/Renew Commands: Executed IP release and renew commands via the command prompt.
  4. Network Reset Command: Utilized the command netsh int ip reset.
  5. Driver Management: Uninstalled and then reinstalled the Wi-Fi drivers.
  6. Clean Boot: Restarted the computer in a clean boot state to exclude third-party interference.
  7. TCP/IPv4 Settings Adjustment: Attempted modifications to my TCP/IPv4 configuration.

Regrettably, none of these solutions have resolved the connectivity issue.
