I’m Suspecting a Virus on My Windows 10 Laptop but Can’t Identify It

Is Your Windows 10 Laptop Acting Weird? It Might Be Infected with a Virus!

If you’ve been using your Windows 10 laptop for any length of time, you might suddenly notice some unusual behavior. Many users have encountered issues that lead them to suspect they might have a virus. If your laptop feels warmer than usual, is running slower, and you’re losing disk space at an alarming rate, you may be facing a malware issue—even if your antivirus scans indicate otherwise.

Symptoms to Watch For

Recently, I’ve experienced a concerning situation with my laptop. Over the past month, it’s been running hotter than normal, and my disk space has been dwindling rapidly—losing approximately 2 GB every single day. Alongside these symptoms, I’ve noticed a significant decrease in performance, which can be frustrating. However, I have not installed or downloaded any applications that I find suspicious.

Attempts to Solve the Issue

To combat these potential threats, I’ve already taken some proactive steps. I conducted two comprehensive system scans using Malwarebytes and performed an additional scan with Windows Defender. Unfortunately, none of these scans revealed any threats. I even attempted to run a scan in Safe Mode, but encountered issues, as Windows Defender doesn’t seem to boot in that mode.

Seeking Guidance

At this point, I’m reaching out for help. If you’ve faced similar issues or have expertise in troubleshooting malware problems, I would greatly appreciate your advice on the next steps. What other methods can I employ to identify and eliminate any persistent threats on my laptop? Your insights would be invaluable in helping me restore my device’s performance.
