Discovering an IP Surveillance Camera on My Network: Seeking Guidance
Hi there,
Recently, I made a rather unsettling discovery on my home network—an IP surveillance camera. While examining the devices connected to my router, I came across its IPv4 and MAC addresses. My curiosity led me to identify the camera as a Shenzhen model. I attempted to access the video feed via iSpyConnect, but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to view anything.
This situation has raised some serious concerns for me, as I suspect my landlord may be spying on me.
If anyone has experience dealing with similar situations or can provide any advice on how to access the camera feed, I would greatly appreciate your insights.
Update on My Situation
I want to extend my gratitude to everyone who reached out with helpful suggestions. I apologize for the delayed response, as I’ve been tied up with other commitments.
After spending three days trying various methods—using Angry IP, different mapping tools, VLC player, and a few other applications—I found myself at an impasse. Frustrated, I ultimately decided to block the camera from my network. My plan is to revisit the issue later, possibly re-enabling it and systematically turning off different sections of my home to pinpoint its location. Additionally, I’m considering using an infrared phone camera to detect it within my space.
Thank you again for your support and advice during this unnerving experience. I’ll keep you updated as I try to resolve this matter.
