Struggling with Unreliable Internet? Here’s My Frustration and Journey to Find a Solution

For more than five years, I’ve been battling a recurring issue with my internet connection: random disconnections that leave me frustrated and at my wit’s end. Regardless of my efforts, it seems like my connection restarts every 30 minutes to an hour. This can happen while I’m downloading files, watching videos, or even while gaming, causing disruptions and a lagging experience. The infuriating part? Switching to an ethernet connection yielded no improvements—it’s as if the problem was omnipresent.

I’ve reached a breaking point. Just the other day, while I was typing this very post, my internet froze for a solid minute. It’s maddening. I reached out to my internet service provider (ISP), but despite their technician’s visit and assurance that everything was working fine, I continue to face these issues. It’s worth noting that I’m the only one in my neighborhood experiencing this complication, leaving me feeling quite isolated in my frustration.

Due to restrictions in my apartment building, I can’t switch providers, further complicating matters. I even considered purchasing a new router, specifically the Archer C50, which I thought might resolve the connectivity issues, but unfortunately, that didn’t make a difference either.

During my troubleshooting efforts, I checked the event log on my modem and noticed a few recurring error messages, which include:

  • No Ranging Response received – T3 time-out
  • UCD invalid or channel unusable
  • Can’t get DownStream, trying to lock on DS
  • TFTP failed – OUT OF ORDER packets

If you’ve ever faced a similar situation, you’ll understand just how overwhelming it can be. I’m keen to hear if anyone has suggestions or insights that could help alleviate this situation before my sanity completely unravels.

To add a little silver lining, I reached out to tech support once more to inquire about the outside line. They recognized a problem and performed some fixes, which have yielded slight improvements. However, I remain cautious until I can fully confirm that my internet issues are resolved.
