I’d given up on why my internet just get disconnected randomly

Overcoming Internet Connectivity Woes: A Personal Journey

Are you grappling with persistent internet connectivity issues? If so, you’re not alone. After enduring frustrating interruptions for over five years, I’ve decided to share my experience and seek insights from the community.

For the longest time, my internet would disconnect randomly, leaving me in an endless cycle of hope and despair. Regardless of my efforts, I faced issues like complete dropouts that lasted for a few minutes, unexpected restarts, and a general inability to maintain a stable connection. Frequent interruptions while streaming videos and playing online games became the norm, and even connecting via Ethernet did not alleviate the problems.

I reached a breaking point recently when, while typing this very post, my connection froze again. Feeling utterly defeated, I contacted my internet service provider for assistance. Unfortunately, they determined that everything was functioning properly on their end. To make matters worse, I discovered that I was the only person in my neighborhood experiencing these disruptions — and switching providers was not an option due to apartment restrictions.

After considerable thought, I wondered if my Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 wireless adapter could be the culprit, or if replacing my router with an Archer C50 would bring about a fix. Sadly, neither solution seemed to work.

In search of clarity, I examined the event log and noted several recurring issues, including:

  • No Ranging Response Received – T3 Time-out
  • UCD Invalid or Channel Unusable
  • Can’t Get Downstream – Trying to Lock on DS
  • TFTP Failed – Out of Order Packets

Feeling on the verge of a mental breakdown, I reached out to fellow tech enthusiasts for advice on resolving these persistent issues. Every bit of insight is invaluable at this point.

In a recent update, I contacted Tech Support once more, and after inspecting the external lines, they identified a problem. Since their intervention, I’ve experienced some improvement, though it remains to be seen if this is a long-term fix.

If you’ve dealt with similar connectivity challenges, I would love to hear your stories and any potential solutions that helped you regain a stable internet connection. It’s always encouraging to know we’re not alone in these struggles!
