Meet Nick Percoco

Nick’s journey into the world of technology began at an early age. He first learned to code at just seven years old on a Timex Sinclair 1000, and as the years progressed, he immersed himself in the bustling Chicagoland bulletin board systems (BBS) using a Commodore 64 and an Intel 386 PC running Linux. His deep passion for technology has remained a driving force throughout his career, allowing him to become a prominent figure within the cybersecurity space.

Before his tenure at Kraken, Nick held several key roles responsible for advancing security and IT protocols. He served as CSO at Uptake, an industrial AI company, and was also the Vice President of Global Services at Rapid7, where he played a vital role in guiding cybersecurity strategies. He has shared his expertise on numerous prestigious platforms, including Black Hat, DEF CON, and OWASP, providing valuable insights on topics such as security breaches, malware, mobile security, and emerging information security trends.

Nick is widely recognized for his involvement in investigating some of the largest data breaches in history. During his time at Kraken, he has dedicated years to developing comprehensive security programs designed to protect the cryptocurrency exchange from various attacks.
