Seeking Help for Persistent Computer Issues: Can You Assist?

Hello, fellow tech enthusiasts!

I’m reaching out today because I’ve been grappling with some frustrating computer troubles and I’m hoping someone in this community might have insights to share. After spending an entire day attempting to resolve these issues on my own, I feel like I’ve hit a wall. So, I decided to cast my net wider and seek assistance here.

To give you a clearer picture of the situation, I’ll summarize the troubleshooting steps I’ve already taken:
– I performed a disk cleanup
– Defragmented my hard drive
– Utilized the built-in run application to delete temporary files
– Cleared my browser history
– Scanned for viruses and malware
– Disabled unnecessary startup programs
– Closed unneeded background applications
– Restarted my computer
– Updated the GPU driver
– Verified game files for the titles I was playing during the onset of the issues

Despite these efforts, I’m still facing some challenging performance issues. Whenever I simply open the file explorer, I notice my CPU and RAM usage spikes to around 25-30%, even though I’m equipped with an i9 processor and 16 GB of RAM.

For context, I was attempting to enjoy a gaming session with Far Cry 3, but the frame rates were dismal, often hovering between 6 to 10 FPS. Additionally, when trying to launch Rocket League, I was met with an error message that has been a constant source of frustration. I’ve attached the error code that pops up when I attempt to start the game.

At this point, I’m uncertain whether these issues are interconnected or completely separate, but I’m eager for any advice or solutions you may have. If you’ve encountered similar problems or have any troubleshooting tips, your input would be invaluable. Thank you in advance for your help!

  1. Hi there,

It sounds like you’ve already taken some great initial steps to troubleshoot your computer issues. Given the persistent performance problems, especially during gaming, here are some additional suggestions that might help:

    • Check for Background Processes: Use Task Manager (press Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to identify any processes consuming high CPU or RAM resources when running your games or opening File Explorer.
    • Update Windows: Ensure your operating system is fully up-to-date, as updates often include performance improvements and bug fixes.
    • Update Game Drivers and Windows Components: Apart from GPU drivers, consider updating your chipset drivers and DirectX runtime to optimize gaming performance.
    • Monitor Temperatures: Use tools like HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to check if your CPU or GPU are overheating, which can cause throttling and poor performance.
    • Check for Disk Errors: Run chkdsk /f /r in Command Prompt to scan and repair any potential disk errors that might be slowing down your system.
    • Review Event Viewer logs: Look for any critical errors or warnings that occur when you launch the problematic applications.
    • Address the Rocket League error code: Please provide the specific error code
