Troubleshooting a Boot Issue After Installing a New SSD
Recently, I upgraded my Dell G3 3579 by adding a new WD NVMe M.2 SSD and setting up a fresh operating system. Initially, everything seemed to work flawlessly for about three days. However, today I encountered a perplexing issue: my PC failed to boot, displaying the error message “Required device not found.” You can view a screenshot of the error here.
Upon further inspection, I discovered that I couldn’t access recovery mode, and attempts to open the Command Prompt from bootable media were fruitless. Using the diskpart utility, I noted that the disk was recognized as online, yet the partitions remained offline. This raised several questions about the circumstances leading to this situation.
In a bid to resolve the issue quickly—considering the urgency and minimal data stored—I opted to clean the SSD, convert it to GPT format, and proceed with a fresh Windows installation.

Insights and Follow-Up
After conducting some troubleshooting, it appears that the SSD may have experienced a disconnection, which resulted in the volumes being rendered offline. Though the partitions were healthy, for reasons that remain unclear, they were not accessible.
