Troubleshooting SSD Boot Issues: What Went Wrong with My New Installation
Recently, I embarked on an upgrade journey for my Dell G3 3579 by adding a new WD NVMe M.2 SSD and setting up a fresh operating system. Initially, everything was running smoothly for about three days. However, to my surprise, my PC suddenly refused to boot. The error message I encountered was “Required device not found,” and despite my efforts to initiate recovery mode or troubleshoot using command prompts from bootable media, I found myself at a standstill.
Upon examining the disk through Diskpart, I discovered that while the SSD showed as online, its partitions were inexplicably offline. This posed a significant question: How could this happen?
Faced with an urgent need for functionality and realizing that the amount of data to lose wasn’t substantial, I made the difficult decision to wipe the SSD clean, convert it to GPT format, and reinstall Windows from scratch.
