Title: Troubleshooting Audio Interference Issues on the Lenovo Legion 5 Gaming Laptop
As a proud owner of a new Lenovo Legion 5 gaming laptop, I find myself grappling with a perplexing audio issue that has left me frustrated and puzzled. My device is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 processor, an NVIDIA RTX 3060 graphics card, and features a swift 512 GB SSD. Initially, I was thrilled about these specs, but my excitement was quickly dampened when I encountered an odd problem.
After receiving my first unit just two weeks ago, I plugged in my headphones using the 3.5mm jack on the left side of the laptop. To my dismay, I began hearing a persistent crackling and static sound whenever I played audio on Spotify or watched videos on YouTube. Notably, this noise persisted for an additional 5-10 seconds even after pausing the content. This glitch also manifested during startup, particularly when Discord automatically launched, leading me to suspect some form of interference when the sound card was in use. The static was loud enough to be a significant distraction, hovering around one-third of my music’s volume.
In an attempt to resolve the issue, I diligently followed various troubleshooting steps available online. I disabled audio enhancements, disconnected the charger, and even updated the BIOS in hopes of finding a solution. While switching to Bluetooth headphones proved to be a temporary fix—albeit with subpar sound quality—I relied on my Beyer DT770s for a more professional experience. Interestingly, when I connected my headphones via a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter, I found no static, leading me to believe the problem might originate from the 3.5mm port itself.
Frustration led me to return my first laptop, hoping for a fresh start with a replacement. Unfortunately, the new unit exhibited the same annoying issue, with one notable difference: the static noise only emerged when the laptop was plugged in and the WiFi router was powered on. When I switched off the router while keeping the laptop connected to power, the unpleasant static disappeared. However, as soon as I turned the router back on, the interference returned.
This experience has left me wondering: are there others who have faced a similar challenge? My partner’s laptop, as well as my work device (also a Lenovo!), seem to operate without any issues, which raises the question of whether this particular model is flawed.
Should I continue to seek a solution for this
