My Laptop Took a Tumble: Assessing the Damage
Hey there, fellow tech enthusiasts! Today, I experienced a bit of a mishap when my laptop unexpectedly fell out of my bag and landed on the concrete in a parking lot. It was quite a scare, but thankfully, it appears to be functioning as intended. It’s an HP model, and the screen is still responsive, the audio works well, and the charger is functioning without issue.
However, I’ve noticed some troubling signs of damage. The hinge seems to be dented, and it produces a noise whenever I open the laptop, which is a bit concerning. Additionally, there are small black squares near the dent that have popped out on the right side. To make matters worse, the HDMI port is also dented, with a tiny red fuzzy protrusion visible. When I type, the right side of the laptop appears to have sagged slightly, as if there’s a gap.
I’m planning to take my laptop to Best Buy for a thorough inspection after my classes today. In the meantime, I would greatly appreciate any insights or advice from anyone who has faced a similar situation. What can I expect in terms of repairs? Should I brace myself for the worst, or is there a chance that it’s just minor damage?
Thanks for your support!
