Seeking Help with an Aging LG Laptop Repair

Hello everyone,

I find myself in a bit of a predicament with my old LG laptop, which has served me faithfully for nearly two decades. Recently, I’ve decided to attempt some repairs on it; however, I’ve encountered a couple of issues that I could use some guidance on.

Upon starting the computer, I’ve noticed that one of the screen hinges is completely broken, while the other is significantly weakened. I’m beginning to wonder if these hinge problems are related to the laptop’s inability to function properly, and I’m uncertain about the root cause of these issues.

Given the age of the laptop, I’m curious to know if there are viable solutions to these problems or if it might be time to consider this device retired for good. As this is my first experience delving into computer repairs, I would greatly appreciate any advice or insights from those who may have faced similar challenges.
