Troubleshooting a Peculiar Monitor Issue: Why Does My Acer GD245HQ Go Dark?

I recently encountered a strange problem with my Acer GD245HQ monitor that I can’t seem to shake off, and I want to hear if anyone else has had a similar experience. After using the monitor without issue, I decided to turn it off using the power button each night. However, come morning, I found myself in a frustrating situation—my monitor would not turn back on.

Initially, I didn’t think much of it. I figured that maybe it was just a temporary glitch. Yet here I am, reporting this odd occurrence for the fourth time! The monitor remains stubbornly dark after being powered off, and it isn’t until approximately two days later that it magically comes back to life.

To clarify, the monitor operates perfectly fine in between these incidents. I had recently completed my adventures in GTA 5 without any hitches. I also ensured that the cables were functioning properly by testing them with a different monitor, and everything seemed to be in order—no issues there. The power button does its job effectively; it’s not defective.

So this is my routine: I turn the monitor off at night, but the next morning, no amount of pressing the power button seems to help. In the meantime, I resort to using my backup monitor. Yet, when I return to the original Acer GD245HQ after it has been unplugged for a couple of days, it powers on like nothing happened. This has now occurred multiple times, leaving me baffled.

Thanks to all of you in this community who have reached out with similar dilemmas; I was starting to feel isolated with this perplexing issue. It’s comforting to know that I’m not the only one grappling with this. Given that it’s a somewhat costly piece of equipment, I really want to get this fixed.

Currently, I’m only using the power cable to test things out since the graphics card is irrelevant in this case. My hunch is that there might be an issue with the capacitors inside the monitor. Could that be the underlying cause of this peculiar behavior?
