Troubleshooting a PC That Won’t Start: A Personal Experience
We’ve all been there—frustration building up to the point where we accidentally (or purposefully) take it out on our desks. Recently, I encountered a peculiar issue with my PC after one of these moments of exasperation. Allow me to share my experience and the solutions I found, in case you find yourself in a similar situation.
It all started when I noticed that occasionally, slamming my hand on the desk or dropping something on it would cause my computer to unexpectedly restart. I didn’t think much of it until one particular incident. After striking my desk in frustration, my computer rebooted, but this time, it presented a distressing message: “This PC needs to be repaired.” The error indicated that certain “kernels” were missing.
Initially, I attempted a standard reboot, but I was met with a blank screen displaying a “no signal” error. This left me feeling helpless and eager to find a solution.
System Specifications:
– Motherboard: MSI Z270 M5
– Graphics Card: RTX 2070 Super
– Processor: Intel i7-7700
– RAM: 16GB TridentZ
– Power Supply: CM 850W Gold
– Storage: 256GB Kingston SSD
After gathering some insights from fellow tech enthusiasts and experts, I decided to take decisive action. I disassembled the majority of my PC components, as suggested by several individuals who had experienced similar mishaps. Following their advice, I carefully reassembled everything and even reset the CMOS.
To my relief, this method worked! My computer booted up without any further issues. This experience reminded me of the power of a measured and systematic approach, even when facing the frustration that gaming (in my case, Escape from Tarkov) can cause.
In retrospect, I appreciate the guidance I received from the community. If you find yourself in a similar predicament, don’t hesitate to seek help, and remember to approach the situation calmly. Your PC might just need a little love and attention to get back on track!
