Struggling with Internet Connectivity? My Experience with ISP Tech Support

In today’s digitally driven world, a stable internet connection is not just a luxury but a necessity. Recently, I’ve faced significant challenges with my internet service that I’d like to share in hopes of reaching others who may be experiencing similar frustrations.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve encountered persistent issues with my internet connection. Despite being a wired setup through my Huawei HG532E modem, I’ve dealt with frequent disconnections, high latency when trying to ping servers, and alarming packet loss. These issues have left me feeling quite exasperated.

In my quest for a solution, I reached out to my Internet Service Provider’s (ISP) tech support six times. Surprisingly, during these calls, I was met with a disconcerting lack of understanding; one representative even asked, “What’s packet loss?” This was particularly disheartening, given the severity of my problems.

To elaborate, the Internet and ADSL lights on my modem would routinely shut off, disrupting my online activities. While experimenting with modem settings, switching to G.dmt seemed to address two issues but unfortunately exacerbated the frequency of the disconnections. Now, my connection drops every two to five minutes, with the modem lights turning off for about 20 seconds at a time—almost as if the modem is rebooting itself. Other modulation types yielded similar outcomes, leading me back to square one.

In hopes of a more productive response, I requested to escalate my issues to level 2 tech support. I was assured that a representative would reach out within two days. However, that was now two weeks ago, and the only response I’ve received has been additional promises of callback within another two days.

I’m truly fed up with this experience, and I find myself grappling for a solution to these persistent connectivity problems.
