Encountering Electrical Issues with My PC: Insights and Precautions
Today, I experienced a concerning incident with my computer that raised several questions about its safety. While using my PC, I inadvertently bumped the headphone jack, which seemed inconsequential at the time. However, hours later, I noticed something unsettling: my computer shut down unexpectedly. Unlike a typical reboot, this was complete power loss—my keyboard and RGB lights ceased functioning entirely.
To restore power, I had to flip the switch on the power strip. Following this event, my PC exhibited difficulty booting up. After another attempt at powering it on, I disconnected the power strip entirely before plugging it back in. Unfortunately, as I turned my computer back on, I heard a pop and witnessed a spark, seemingly originating from the power supply unit (PSU).
Given this alarming situation, I’m now left wondering about the potential safety of booting up my system again. It’s essential to address these kinds of electrical issues promptly to prevent further damage or even safety hazards. If you’ve encountered similar experiences or have insights on how to proceed in cases like this, your advice would be greatly appreciated.
