On a call with my VP of global services, and they’re saying the quiet part out loud.

The Hidden Conversations Behind Talent Acquisition: A Wake-Up Call

Recently, I found myself in a revealing discussion alongside my Vice President of Global Services that shed light on some unsettling trends in our industry. During the call, the VP candidly expressed a strategy that goes beyond merely seeking talent based on cost; it invites a more concerning practice of searching for countries with the least stringent labor protection laws.

This approach raises significant concerns, not only about the ethical implications but also about the overall morale of team members who value fair labor practices and a supportive work environment. It leaves many of us reflecting on what such decisions mean for the integrity of our workplace culture.

I’m curious if others have encountered similar conversations in their organizations. As for me, I am in my final week at my current position, looking forward to new opportunities where these values align more closely with my own. It’s a bittersweet farewell, but one that comes with the hope of entering a more principled and supportive work atmosphere.

Let’s start a dialog. Have you experienced similar discussions in your professional environment, and how do they resonate with your workplace values?
