On a call with my VP of global services, and they’re saying the quiet part out loud.

The Unspoken Reality of Global Talent Acquisition

In a recent discussion with my vice president of global services, a concerning trend was highlighted that many in the industry may not be aware of. It has become apparent that the focus isn’t solely on finding the most cost-effective talent to fill vacancies. There’s a troubling element of “country-shopping” as well, prioritizing locations with minimal labor protections.

This revelation raises significant concerns about the long-term implications for employee morale and the overall workplace culture. When leadership openly communicates strategies that seek out regions with lower labor rights, it sends a disheartening message to current employees. It suggests that the organization may prioritize financial gains over the well-being of its workforce.

Are others within the industry experiencing similar dialogues? It’s disheartening to witness such priorities taking shape, but I am relieved to share that this week marks my final one at my current position. I look forward to moving on to more supportive and responsible environments in my next venture.

As we navigate these challenging dynamics in the workplace, it is essential to remain vigilant and advocate for a corporate culture that values ethical practices alongside the bottom line.
