The Cost of Compromise: A Candid Look at Talent Acquisition Practices

In a recent conversation with my Vice President of Global Services, I found myself confronted with an unsettling realization. During our discussion, the emphasis was not solely on finding cost-effective talent for open positions; rather, it became clear that there’s an additional layer to this strategy—selecting countries with the most lenient labor protection laws.

This approach raises significant concerns about team morale and the ethical implications of prioritizing low-cost labor over the well-being of employees. When organizations begin to openly evaluate regions based on the fragility of their labor protections, it creates a challenging environment for those committed to fostering a positive workplace culture.
