Passed the Comptia Security+ Certification Exam on my first go… Don’t be afraid.

Conquering the CompTIA Security+ Certification: My First Try Success!

I am thrilled to share that I successfully passed the CompTIA Security+ certification exam on my very first attempt! If you’re feeling anxious about your preparation, take it from me: there’s no reason to be afraid.

For those who may be apprehensive about the exam’s difficulty, I want to reassure you that it was not as challenging as I initially thought. While it certainly presented its fair share of difficulties, the overall experience was manageable. There were only a few questions that could have benefited from clearer wording, but ultimately, they didn’t hinder my performance.

One aspect that surprised me was the simulation questions. I had anticipated a grueling process where I would need to recall specific commands from memory. Instead, they felt more akin to a matching exercise or utilizing dropdown menus, which made the experience significantly easier than I had imagined.

My initial fear of these simulations had led me to delay taking the exam, as I was convinced I needed more practice. I now recognize that I was simply overthinking the process and didn’t give myself enough credit.

Here are my top tips for anyone preparing for the exam:

  1. Practice Exams: After you finish your study materials, take practice exams consistently and ensure you’re passing them. This builds confidence and helps you identify areas that need more attention.

  2. Time Management: If you encounter a question that stumps you, don’t dwell on it. Mark it for review and move on—another question might provide you with hints that can jog your memory later.

  3. Review Strategically: Make sure to mark questions you want to revisit for a focused review at the end of the exam. This can save you valuable time while ensuring you address any uncertainties.

Lastly, I want to express my gratitude to the incredible members of this Reddit community who share valuable information, advice, and resources. Your support has been instrumental in my journey into the world of cybersecurity.

Good luck to all of you who are on this path!

P.S. I appreciate all the kind words and acknowledgments I’ve received—it truly means a lot to me! I couldn’t have achieved this without your encouragement.
