Passed the Comptia Security+ Certification Exam on my first go… Don’t be afraid.

Conquering the CompTIA Security+ Certification Exam: My First Attempt Success

I’m thrilled to share that I successfully passed the CompTIA Security+ certification exam on my very first attempt! If you’re feeling anxious about taking the plunge, let me assure you—there’s no need to fear.

Initially, I was quite apprehensive about my readiness for the exam; however, I discovered that it was not as daunting as I had anticipated. While I wouldn’t describe it as a walk in the park, I found that the experience was manageable and ultimately rewarding. There were a few questions that could have benefited from clearer wording, but overall, the content was straightforward.

One of my biggest concerns leading up to the exam was the simulation questions. I had imagined these would require detailed command-line inputs conjured from memory. To my surprise, the simulations were more akin to matching questions or using dropdown menus, making them much easier than I had envisioned.

My hesitation to schedule the exam stemmed from a fear of these simulations, as I initially thought I wasn’t adequately prepared. It turns out I had unnecessarily psychologized myself out of taking the exam sooner.

Here are a few tips I’d like to share, particularly for those in a similar situation: Once you feel comfortable with your material, take practice exams. Aim to consistently score well to build your confidence. If you encounter questions that stump you, don’t dwell on them! Skip and mark them for review; you may find answers in other questions, which could jog your memory.

A special thanks to the community members who have contributed countless resources, advice, and insights. Your support has been invaluable in my journey through the cybersecurity landscape.

Best of luck to everyone preparing for their Security+ exam—you’ve got this!

P.S. I’m incredibly grateful for all the encouragement I’ve received from this community. Your support means the world to me!
