Passed the Comptia Security+ Certification Exam on my first go… Don’t be afraid.

Successfully Passing the CompTIA Security+ Certification Exam: My Experience

I’m excited to share that I passed the CompTIA Security+ certification exam on my first attempt! If you’re feeling apprehensive about taking the exam, I want to reassure you that it wasn’t as daunting as I initially believed.

While I won’t sugarcoat it—preparing for the exam certainly had its challenges—it was not as difficult as I anticipated. There were only a few questions that could have been phrased more clearly, and to my surprise, the simulation questions were much more straightforward than I had imagined. I had worried that I would need to recall and type specific commands from memory. In reality, they were more akin to matching questions and using dropdown menus, which made them manageable.

My primary hesitation about taking the exam stemmed from my fear of these simulations, which led me to postpone my test date. In hindsight, I realize that I let my anxiety hold me back—nothing could have prepared me for the exam better than simply taking the plunge.

For those who are on the fence about their readiness, I recommend taking practice exams after completing your study sessions. This will help you gauge your understanding and ensure you’re consistently achieving passing scores. If you encounter questions that stump you, it’s okay to skip them and mark them for review. Sometimes, a different question might provide context that helps jog your memory. Just remember to mark those initial questions for a quick revisit at the end.

I’d also like to extend my gratitude to the incredible community on this platform. The advice and resources shared by fellow members played a significant role in my preparation journey through the world of cybersecurity.

Wishing everyone the best of luck in your own certification journeys!

Edit: Wow! Thank you all for the kind words and the awards! Your support has been invaluable, and I couldn’t have done this without the encouragement of this community!
