PC runs incredibly slow, but it gets fixed after restarting it.

Troubleshooting Persistent Performance Issues: A Call for Insight

Are you experiencing significant slowdowns on your PC, only to find that a simple restart resolves the issue? You’re not alone. This perplexing behavior can be frustrating, especially for avid gamers who rely on optimal performance.

The Dilemma: A Lagging System

Imagine starting your computer, eager to dive into a game, only to find that everything is lagging immensely. What should run smoothly at 120 frames per second (FPS) suddenly struggles to reach 30 FPS. Despite generally smooth operation, this sporadic performance dip can be maddening. After a restart, however, everything springs back to life, often functioning as it should.

Identifying Possible Causes

The question remains: what could be causing this abrupt change in performance? For instance, monitoring your GPU temperatures reveals that they peak at around 69-70°C while playing demanding titles. Since this is within the acceptable range, overheating isn’t likely the culprit. The issue appears to manifest from the moment the system starts until it’s rebooted, affecting all operations indiscriminately.

A Peculiar Side Note

Interestingly, there’s an unrelated incident to consider. Recently, while attempting to download a program to enhance my experience in Resident Evil 4 at its highest difficulty, I discovered that this program contained a trojan known as Occamy.c. This malicious Software was rumored to have the capability to allow remote control of my system. Given that I’ve noticed some unusual behavior—like the game spontaneously exiting to the menu—I can’t help but wonder if there’s a connection between the trojan and my computer’s performance issues.

After deleting the trojan and running comprehensive scans, I believe I’ve removed it. However, lingering doubts about my system’s integrity remain. Is it possible to confirm that my computer is entirely secure now, or is it merely a figment of my imagination?

Seeking Insights

If you’ve faced similar challenges or have expertise in troubleshooting these kinds of issues, your insights would be invaluable. Have you encountered performance problems that seem to resolve after a restart? How did you diagnose the root cause? Additionally, for those who’ve dealt with malware, what steps did you take to ensure your system was clean?

Your experiences and suggestions could be key in demystifying these frustrating performance dips and ensuring our systems remain safe and efficient. Let’s work together to fortify our digital lives!
