PC went to sleep and woke up like this –

Unusual Computer Behavior: A Case Study on Wake-Up Issues

Recently, I encountered a puzzling issue with my PC that left me scratching my head. After stepping away from my computer for about 40 minutes, it entered sleep mode as expected. However, upon my return and a slight nudge of the mouse, the screen displayed an unexpected sight—something akin to a distorted green screen filled with horizontal lines.

After this odd occurrence, I decided to reboot the system. The first restart didn’t resolve the problem. However, after initiating a second reboot, everything returned to normal. To further investigate the stability of my setup, I put my system to the test by running a GPU stress benchmark. The good news? My graphics card, an MSI RTX 2070 Armor with 8GB of memory, handled the full load without breaking a sweat, peaking at a mere 68°C.

As a precautionary measure, I have since disabled the sleep function to avoid any potential recurrence of this strange behavior.

Here’s a quick summary of my setup for reference:
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B450F
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
Graphics Card: MSI RTX 2070 Armor 8GB
RAM: 32GB (2x16GB G.Skill)
Storage: 500GB Samsung 970 Evo
Power Supply: EVGA Supernova 850W 80+ Gold

What’s intriguing is that the issue appeared to resolve itself after a second restart. If you’ve faced similar waking issues with your PC or have insights on those puzzling green screens, I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences!
