Concerned About My Laptop’s Performance: Could It Be a Virus or Background Process?
As technology becomes increasingly embedded in our lives, it’s natural to encounter a few hiccups along the way. Recently, I’ve experienced a troubling issue with my laptop that has left me feeling uneasy. I’m reaching out to the community for insights and potential solutions.
I’ve observed that my laptop’s fans have been ramping up significantly, with both CPU temperatures and utilization spiking dramatically—even when the screen is off. After checking the Task Manager, I noticed some unusual activity during these periods of inactivity.
To address my concerns, I performed thorough scans using several reputable tools, including Malwarebytes, Hitman Pro, and ESET’s online scanner. Unfortunately, none of these scans detected any malicious Software. In an effort to completely resolve the issue, I even reset my PC after wiping all files, yet the problem persists.
My burning question is: could this behavior indicate the presence of a virus, or is it possible that a background Windows process is responsible for this increased activity during idle times?
I would deeply appreciate any advice or insights you may have. Thank you in advance for your help!
