Mysterious Random Ads on My PC: Is It Malware or Just a Glitch?

Recently, I encountered a perplexing issue on my Dell PC running Windows 10. Not only has the device underperformed relative to its price, but now it’s starting to show strange behavior in the form of random ads popping up, raising alarms about potential malware.

The incident occurred while I was attempting to launch a modified version of Roblox through a GitHub extension known as Bloxstrap. To my dismay, the app began crashing repeatedly, culminating in a jarring moment when my screen abruptly turned black and transitioned into a fullscreen advertisement resembling something you’d expect from low-quality television—complete with flashy graphics for what looked like a ridiculous children’s toy. I couldn’t even remember if a cursor was visible during this bizarre interruption.

After this unsettling event, I took immediate action to check for any signs of malware. I ran comprehensive scans using both Malwarebytes and Windows Defender multiple times, only to find no threats detected. This situation has left me scratching my head. Could this be a case of advanced malware that evaded detection, or is there a more benign explanation that I’m simply overlooking?

While my initial suspicion directed me toward the modified Roblox application from GitHub, I’m hesitant to point fingers just yet, as the link I used appears to be legitimate and has a solid reputation among users.
