Troubleshooting My Computer’s Troubling Behavior: Seeking Help

Lately, I’ve been encountering some perplexing issues with my computer, and I’m hoping to gather some insights from fellow tech enthusiasts. After a repair about three years ago, my system started behaving oddly, and I suspect that the mysterious origins of a replacement part might be the culprits.

Initially, the trouble began with a persistent “CPU fan error” at startup, despite the fan functioning normally and the CPU operating at a healthy temperature. Foolishly, I opted not to reach out to the repair service for assistance; instead, I would merely navigate to the BIOS to boot my system manually. This was just the beginning; ultimately, I traced another problem to a faulty SSD, which I have since replaced.

However, my persistence has been put to the test once again. I’m now facing intermittent power issues—occasionally, the computer powers on without a hitch, while other times, it remains unresponsive despite the power button lighting up and the power supply indicating activity. Internally, everything appears intact; fans are spinning, and components look active, yet there’s no output to my monitor, keyboard, or mouse.

In instances where the computer fails to turn on, I’ve found that it often requires a series of maneuvers: pressing the power button to turn it off, toggling the power supply, and sometimes even reseating the internal connections after opening the case. Strangely enough, everything seems to be correctly connected upon inspection.

Additionally, I face other miscellaneous quirks. For instance, if I switch my HDMI connection from the monitor to the TV, it triggers a complete system restart. Moreover, it exhibits an unsettling tendency to shut down if bumped, such as when I rise from my chair and inadvertently knock it.
