Strange WiFi Issue on my computer?

Troubleshooting a Peculiar WiFi Issue on My Computer

This morning, as I sat down to enjoy some gaming and browsing, I encountered an unexpected and perplexing WiFi issue on my computer. I launched “Punishing Gray Raven,” a game I had played seamlessly just a day prior. Upon starting the game, I was prompted to sign in, as usual, using my Google account. After successfully logging in through my browser, I returned to the game’s interface only to find my account ID displayed, indicating that I was indeed logged in. However, when I attempted to access the game, a network error surfaced, which struck me as odd.

This hiccup was further complicated when I switched to Discord, where I faced similar challenges. Instead of the familiar interface, I was greeted by a frustrating black screen alongside a small update window that struggled to load.

Initially, I assumed the issue might be specific to my computer, but my initial tests suggested otherwise. I typically use the Brave browser, which allowed me to search the web without any issues. I could even stream YouTube videos in 1080p without interruptions.

In an attempt to rectify the situation, I restarted and updated my computer, toggled my WiFi connection on and off, and even rebooted my router. Regrettably, none of these measures resolved the problems I was experiencing.

While investigating the issue online, I found that the Google search page loaded without problem; however, other websites remained unresponsive, repeatedly displaying messages indicating that they could not be reached. This was true for both Reddit and Quora, while only sites like YouTube and ChatGPT seemed to function normally.

An additional detail caught my attention: in the corner of my Windows 11 interface, the WiFi icon displayed a disconnected symbol. Yet, upon clicking it, I was reassured that I was connected securely to my network. Hovering over the errant globe icon revealed that I was connected to WiFi, but my Local Area Connection appeared to have no internet access. What could this mean, and how did this peculiar situation arise?

In a bid to further investigate, I ran a WiFi speed test on Google, which confirmed that my connection was strong and fast—no reason for my current woes.

It is perplexing to think that just yesterday, everything functioned flawlessly on my PC. I’m currently writing this post from my iPad, which is exhibiting no connectivity issues at all. If you have any insights or suggestions
