In March 2020, amidst the onset of the pandemic, I made the difficult decision to return to my home country with my parents after receiving directives from my university. In a whirlwind of emotions and responsibilities, I packed up my belongings into my minivan and left my apartment behind.
When I finally returned to campus in September 2021, I was excited to reconnect with old memories, especially with my cherished devices — an iPhone 4 encased in leather and an iPhone 6s that held a special place in my heart. Unfortunately, upon rummaging through my minivan, I was hit with the realization that both phones were nowhere to be found. It dawned on me that I had inadvertently left them in my apartment over 18 months prior.
