Unable to Access Game Servers While Surfing the Internet Properly – Variation 10

Troubleshooting High Ping and Connection Issues with Game Servers

If you’re an avid gamer, there’s nothing more frustrating than being unable to connect to game servers or experiencing high latency when you finally do. Recently, I encountered a significant issue with my gaming setup that I’d like to share in hopes of finding a solution – or perhaps to help others who might be facing similar challenges.

The Issue

Lately, I’ve been unable to connect to any game servers on my PC. When I do manage to make a connection, I’m greeted with an extraordinarily high ping, making gameplay nearly impossible. This problem surfaced after my computer crashed, displaying the infamous Blue Screen of Death (BSoD), which I discovered stemmed from an issue with the Corsair V Bus Driver. After resolving the driver issue by implementing a new one, I expected everything to return to normal. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case.

Games Affected

I’ve tried a few popular titles to see if the issue persists across different platforms:

  • Rainbow Six Siege: I experienced an outrageous ping of over 42,000.
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: I couldn’t connect at all.
  • Call of Duty: Cold War: Again, I found myself unable to connect.

Interestingly, this connectivity problem seems isolated to my desktop, as my laptop and other devices appear to be functioning normally.
