Underwhelmed from going to the 3060 from a 1060, am I missing something?

Experiencing Disappointment with My Graphics Upgrade: Seeking Guidance

Hello, fellow tech enthusiasts! 👋

I recently made the jump from a Gigabyte 1060 to an RoG Strix GeForce RTX 3060, and I must admit, I am feeling somewhat underwhelmed by the performance of my new graphics card. While I appreciate the stability it brings, other aspects don’t seem to be living up to my expectations.

As someone who isn’t a tech expert, I’m wondering if I might be overlooking something crucial in my setup. I’ve done some research and believe that my current components should be adequate for the gaming experience I’m aiming for. Here’s a brief overview of my build:

  • CPU: Intel Core i7 3770
  • GPU: RoG Strix GeForce RTX 3060
  • RAM: 16GB DDR3

My goal is straightforward – to enjoy gaming at 1080p with a target of 60 frames per second or higher. However, it seems like I should be achieving more with this upgrade.

If anyone has insights or suggestions, I’d greatly appreciate your input. Are there any other factors or settings I should consider to get the most out of my new GPU? Are my existing components limiting the performance in any way?

Thank you for your help, and I’m excited to be part of this community!
