Unexplained PC Behavior: A Reddit User Seeks Solutions

Recently, I experienced an incident with my computer that left me utterly bewildered, and I am reaching out for advice.

While enjoying a session of Battlefield 4, I decided to use my Nvidia recording feature to capture some gameplay. In my eagerness, I pressed various key combinations until I finally hit the right sequence to save my game footage. Almost immediately after, things took a strange turn: my computer started acting erratically. The game automatically opened the chat window and typed “amr admin.” In a wave of panic, I exited the game, unsure of what was happening.

Once I opened Chrome, I was shocked to see my browser typing complete sentences in the search bar without any interaction from me. It was as if someone else was controlling the keyboard. The phrases included “use thea hze li again?” and “deah but now I might not be able ti do much :^_.” Confused and concerned, I launched an anti-malware scan with Malwarebytes, but it turned up nothing suspicious.

As I attempted to exit Battlefield, my connection to the server reestablished itself, and the game kept tabbing back to the gameplay window. To make matters worse, my mouse began flickering continuously until I ultimately rebooted my system.

I have meticulously checked my keyboard for macros or any unusual settings, but I haven’t found anything out of the ordinary. Despite scouring the internet for solutions or similar experiences, I’m coming up empty. This whole situation feels surreal and has left me quite anxious.

I have not downloaded any new software over the past couple of weeks, which adds to my uncertainty. At this point, I am contemplating a factory reset of my PC, but I am reluctant to lose the important files stored on my system. Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? Is my computer compromised, or could it be a bizarre hardware glitch? What steps should I take next?
