Unusual event: My PC started typing sentences to me—seeking assistance

An Unusual Experience with My PC: Seeking Guidance

Recently, I encountered a perplexing incident involving my computer, and I could really use some insight from the community. Here’s my story.

While immersed in a session of Battlefield 4, I decided to record some gameplay using NVIDIA’s recording feature. In the process, I experimented with various key combinations until I found the one that saved my gameplay footage. However, shortly after, things took a bizarre turn.

My computer started behaving erratically, seemingly typing random keys on its own. To my shock, the in-game chat instantly populated with the phrase “amr admin.” Alarmed, I exited the game, unsure of what to make of the situation. Attempting to use Chrome afterward, I discovered that my keyboard was typing coherent sentences into the search bar. I wasn’t intentionally typing anything, yet lines like “use thea hze li again?” and “deah but now i might not be able ti do much :^_” appeared as though written by an invisible hand.

Feeling uneasy, I ran a scan with Malwarebytes, but it returned no threats. To make matters worse, whenever I attempted to exit Battlefield, my PC reconnected to the server automatically, and my mouse flickered frequently until I finally rebooted the machine. I checked all macros on my keyboards and found no irregularities. Researching online yielded no relevant threads or solutions, and I was left feeling anxious and bewildered.

Here’s where I need your advice: Should I consider a hard wipe of my system, even though I have important files? Is it possible that my PC has been compromised? Has anyone else faced something similar?

I apologize for the hurried format; I was in a state of panic while typing this out on my phone.

Update: A Glimpse into Resolution

After trying to replicate the strange keystrokes without success, I appreciated everyone’s supportive suggestions. I thoroughly checked the macros and followed up on the advice about connectivity. Ultimately, I decided that playing it safe was the best course of action, so I performed a full wipe of my PC. I’ll be meticulous in recreating my setup to monitor for any future irregularities.

Final Thoughts

Many in the community suggested that this could have been a macro-related issue, although I couldn’t recognize the content that was typed. Despite this, it remains a mystery as to where the strange typing originated. I’ve cleared my system and will carefully monitor
