Unraveling the Mystery of a Peculiar Firewall Exception: “No Connection”
Recently, while adjusting my firewall settings to optimize download speeds for GOG Galaxy, I stumbled across an unusual exception labeled “No Fucking Connection.” This caught my attention—especially since I had been struggling with painfully slow download speeds that had plateaued at 1 Mbps. After adding the exception, I did notice an improvement in my download performance, but I still found myself puzzled by the presence of such an odd entry.
Curiosity piqued, I clicked on the details of this exception, only to be greeted with a blank description. This left me questioning its origins: Did I inadvertently create this exception? If so, which application or game does it relate to? It’s hard to say, and I’ve been left in the dark regarding why it even exists in the first place.
I’m reaching out to the community in hopes of discovering if anyone else has encountered this bizarre firewall exception. Moreover, is there a reliable method to trace which program it may be associated with? If you’ve had a similar experience or have insights into this oddity, let’s discuss it further.
For reference, here’s a screenshot of the firewall exception. I’m eager to hear your thoughts!
