Embracing a New Chapter: A Heartfelt Thank You and Hardware Donation Plan
As I embark on my retirement journey, I’d like to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all who engaged with my previous post. Your insightful suggestions and encouragement regarding my surplus hardware have truly touched me.
After careful consideration of your recommendations, I’ve decided to safely remove all hard drives, ensuring they are completely destroyed—a process I may detail in a future article. Additionally, I’ve organized all of my medical records and will securely retain them for a duration of seven years.
Thanks to the incredible support from this community, I am committed to donating all of my hardware as a complete lot to a facility, charity, educational institution, or any organization in need. If you have any suggestions for specific groups that could benefit from this donation, please feel free to share in the comments. I’m located in central Florida, but I’m open to arranging shipping if necessary.
Here’s what I have organized and ready for donation:
– 15 computers
– 19 monitors
– Various keyboards, mice, and cables
– 3 copier/printer units
– Some smaller printers and scanners
– 1 server/rack that contains unfamiliar equipment
I also want to take this opportunity to acknowledge the unsung heroes who maintain our digital infrastructure. Your hard work and dedication often go unnoticed, and I have deep respect for all that you do.
Thank you once again to everyone on r/Computers and the remarkable individuals in this community. Your support has made this transition all the more rewarding.
