Version 1: Installed a fresh SSD, installed a new operating system, and removed the previous OS files. It functioned perfectly for three days, but today, unexpectedly, the computer won’t start. What could be the cause?

Troubleshooting Boot Issues After SSD Installation: My Experience

Recently, I upgraded my Dell G3 3579 by adding a new WD NVMe M.2 SSD and setting up a fresh operating system. For the first three days, everything worked smoothly. However, I faced a major setback when my computer suddenly failed to boot. I encountered an error message stating, “Required device not found.”

Upon investigating the issue, I attempted to access recovery mode, but to my surprise, I was unable to do so. I then booted using a recovery drive and accessed the Command Prompt to check the disk status with Diskpart. Although the disk appeared to be online, I discovered that the partitions were marked as offline, despite still being in a healthy state. This left me perplexed. What could have caused this disconnect?

Given the urgency of the situation and the relatively small amount of data I had on the SSD, I resorted to resetting the disk. I cleaned it, converted it to GPT format, and installed Windows once again.

To provide further clarity, my setup includes:
Device: Dell G3 3579
SSD: WD NVMe M.2 SSD

In hindsight, I am eager to understand the root cause of this issue to prevent it from happening in the future. The general consensus among peers is that the SSD might have been disconnected momentarily, which could have led to the partitions being dismounted and rendered offline.

I plan to keep this post updated as I learn more about the cause of this problem. If you’ve faced similar issues or have insights to share, I would greatly appreciate your input! Thank you for your help in advance.
