Very strange incident with my PC typing sentences to me – need help

A Bizarre Incident with My PC: Seeking Community Insights

Today, I encountered a strange and unsettling experience with my computer, and I’m reaching out for advice and insights from this community.

While immersed in a game of Battlefield 4, I attempted to record some gameplay using an NVIDIA function. In my quest to find the correct key combination to save the footage, I inadvertently triggered a sequence that caused my PC to behave erratically. Moments later, the game chat opened up on its own and typed the phrase “amr admin.” Panic set in, and I quickly exited the game.

As I opened Chrome, I was baffled to see my search bar fill up with complete sentences on its own. The randomness of the text was alarming; it typed statements such as “use thea hze li again?” and “deah but now I might not be able ti do much :^_.” I immediately launched Malwarebytes to check for malware, but the scan returned clean.

In an effort to regain control, I attempted to exit Battlefield, only to find that I was reconnected to the server repeatedly, and my mouse began to flicker until I decided to reboot the system.

I meticulously checked my keyboard’s macros and settings but found nothing amiss. A search online yielded no helpful threads, and this bizarre occurrence has left me feeling both confused and anxious. It’s been two weeks since I downloaded anything new.

At this point, I’m weighing my options. A hard wipe of my PC is on my mind, but I’m hesitant due to the importance of some files. Has anyone else encountered something similar? Is it possible my PC has been compromised, or could this be a bizarre hardware glitch?

In response to some feedback, I attempted to replicate the typing incident but was unable to recreate it, even with the same keystrokes.

Update: Decisions Made

I sincerely appreciate the supportive responses from everyone. After thorough checks of my macros and ensuring no unattended connections to my device, I opted for a complete wipe of my system. Better safe than sorry, right?

Moving forward, I plan to follow the tips provided in order to ensure my “new” PC setup is secure. Some community members suggested that this could be a server-related glitch in Battlefield 4. While I lean towards a keyboard macro or issue, I felt it was best to take drastic measures rather than lingering in uncertainty.

If I discover anything further or if incidents arise again, I will keep everyone
